MEDIA RELEASE; NEW FACE FOR THE EVENT STOREROOM

Established event and party hire business, The EVENT Storeroom, which caters for a large number of commercial, wedding and Thoroughbred clients has been sold. New owner is Ms Geraldine Moses.

Raised in country NSW, Geraldine moved to Scone with her family in 1998 then pursued professional qualifications in fashion design, visual merchandising and advertising in Sydney and a career that specialised in styling and visual merchandising. Working in the industry for over 10 years for companies such as David Jones, The Apparel Group (SABA) and Jo Hyde Fashion Marketing. After moving back to Scone to be closer to family, Geraldine has been managing Anytime Fitness since its opening 2 years ago.

Geraldine says of her new role "I am really excited to put my creative hat on and help create some really special events with my clients.

Creativity comes naturally to me and I plan to bring all my experience to my new venture with The EVENT Storeroom. I have been looking for an opportunity like this and it is a dream come true to secure this business and do something I am so passionate about".

A large part of The EVENT Storeroom business includes servicing the local Thoroughbred breeding and racing industry. Geraldine will be well placed to do this.

"My family have been a part of the racing industry for as long as I can remember," says Geraldine, "with my Mother, Father and Sister all working in the industry.

The EVENT Storeroom Founders, Amelia Wilkinson and Shane Stenhouse, are delighted with the new owner.

"Shane and I look forward to working with Geraldine over the next few months to ensure a smooth transition for the EVENT storeroom's valued clients," says Amelia. "We couldn't be more pleased that the business is going to Geraldine who has such an an extensive creative background in styling and the Thoroughbred breeding and racing industry. We certainly wish her all the very best."

At the EVENT Storeroom, we have large rounds and large rectangular tables that can accommodate functions from 200 - 300 people +.

Thank you to all the very generous people/organisations that donated to the EVENT storeroom stall in aid of the Upper Hunter Riding for the Disabled at last weeks Scone Homegrown+Handmade Twilight Markets. We raised $600 in aid of this worthwhile cause and lots of interest from potential volunteers and service providers.

All monies raised from our stall will go towards the running costs of the RDA Upper Hunter facility - which costs in excess of $10 000 annually and to their future goal of covering the entire arena to protect the facility and reduce wet weather cancellations which will come at a cost of over $90 000.

the EVENT storeroom looks forward to continuing our fundraising efforts for the Upper Hunter Riding for the Disabled, who in 2016 will be celebrating 25 years of service to the community.

The Scone Festive + Summer Homegrown and Handmade Market has been hailed a huge success. The annual specialist market provides Upper Hunter Homegrown and Handmade enterprises with an avenue to showcase and sell their handcrafted wares, home cooking and local fresh produce - many of which are unique to the region. “The new market venue - the Uniting Church in Main Street – proved a terrific venue,” says market organiser Amelia Wilkinson. “40 stallholders were in attendance and the market was well attended with many people looking to grab last minute Christmas presents.” A local creations fashion parade co-ordinated by fashion partner Marcody was well received by market goers as were the Homegrown and Handmade workshops: How to make a Christmas apron presented by Deb Fergusonn from Sew Scone and Seasonal Gardening Tips presented by Lynda Posa from new Murrurundi based nursery Plants on Pages. Live music was provided by Gillian Miles on piano and singer/performer Tori Vines whilst PowerFM were on site doing an outside broadcast from 9am. A total of $800 was raised for Scone’s Magic Garden Project from a market raffle and $5 donated from every market stall courtesy of The EVENT Storeroom plus part proceeds from rides at Saturday’s market with Valley to Vineyard Trikes. The raffle was drawn by Chris from Scone Home Timber & Hardware Scone with first prize - an outdoor timber bench setting valued at over $600 donated by Scone Timber Hardware & Roberts and Roberts Construction – being won by Sandra Windsor. Second prize - an event hire voucher valued at $300 donated by The Event Storeroom - was won by Victoria Austin. Plans are already underway for a bumper 2014 Festive Summer Scone Homegrown + Handmade Market.
